An excellent opportunity is available for a Production Operator to join a busy manufacturing site in Matraville. This is a hands-on role supporting continuous production operations on a 12-hour rotating shift roster, including:

  • Day shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm
  • Night shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am

This role suits candidates who are flexible, reliable and comfortable working both day and night shifts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will work under the direction of the Production Manager and Shift Supervisors and be part of a large operational team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate production plant and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Follow all Safe Work Procedures and site safety requirements
  • Report all safety incidents, injuries, near misses and quality non-conformances
  • Produce plasterboard to required quality and output standards
  • Safely operate forklifts across the site
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean activities (5S, RCA, standard work, CI initiatives)
  • Complete all required safety training and refresher courses
  • Support production and shipping requirements, including reasonable overtime when required

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achievement of reliability, downtime and quality targets
  • Net board output in line with annual production targets
  • Active participation in Workplace Inspections (WPIs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)

About You

You thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment and take pride in safety, quality and teamwork.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum Year 10 education
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic English communication skills
  • Basic computer skills for data entry
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts
  • Must have full Australian working rights
  • Must be able to pass required pre-employment checks, including medical, drug and alcohol screen, and police check
