ROLE

As the HR Generalist/Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted advisor and partner to ANZ employees and managers, supporting a wide range of human resources functions. This role combines HR advisory expertise with strong interpersonal and analytical skills to foster a positive and productive work environment. The HR Generalist will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure HR practices align with business goals, legal requirements, and company values.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

• Be a hands-on, highly visible HR presence across the operation, spending time with employees on the shop floor, building genuine relationships and creating an environment where people feel comfortable approaching you. Bring warmth, empathy, approachability and a genuine care for people to the role.
• Own the day-to-day HR function, providing practical, responsive support across the full employee lifecycle, including contracts, onboarding, offboarding, leave management, employee records and general HR administration.
• Manage employee matters as they arise, including sickness and attendance, conflict, performance, conduct and attitude. Take a calm, fair and direct approach, having the confidence to address difficult situations while treating people with respect and empathy.
• Lead shop-floor recruitment, building strong candidate relationships, conducting interviews and supporting the business to attract and select the right people. Maintain positive relationships with employees and candidates throughout the process.
• Provide practical, commercially minded HR guidance, applying your knowledge of Australian employment legislation, compliance and HR best practice without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. Focus on practices that are helpful, sensible and fit for the operation - not HR rules for the sake of rules.
• Be a trusted, values-led HR partner, bringing 3-10 years of Australian operational HR experience, strong ethics, sound judgement and a positive attitude. You'll be someone who enjoys being close to the people and the work, is motivated by making a genuine difference, and brings a wise, practical approach to how things get done.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-10 years of Australian HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and practices, including the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, and modern awards.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
• Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively.
• Strong planning and organisational habits.
