About the Opportunity

This major Federal Agency is undergoing a full rebuild of its finance capability following structural changes and is creating a brand new Finance Operations Team. The Agency is looking for candidates who can support transformation, strengthen internal processes, and uplift financial governance and reporting capability.

We are now seeking talent across APS4 to EL1 levels for a variety of finance, payroll, systems and data roles. This is a rare opportunity to join a newly formed team within a high-visibility division of the Australian Public Service.

These roles offer:

  • Locations: ACT or Any State (Hybrid / Remote Options Available)
  • Clearance: Australian Citizenship + Currently holding Baseline Security Clearance
  • Start Date: December 2025
  • Long-term Federal Government engagement
  • Stable hours (Monday-Friday)
  • High-impact work supporting national programs
  • Potential for role extensions (12 months + 2 × 6-month options)
  • Opportunities for either non-ongoing contracts or Section 26 permanent transfers for current APS employees

Key Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship

  • Baseline Security Clearance

  • Federal Government experience preferred (APS/EL roles)

  • Experience in at least one of the following:

    • Financial operations & reporting

    • Payroll processing (Aurion or similar systems)

    • Data management, systems admin, or database administration

    • Accounts payable/receivable

    • Budget support or financial governance

    • Debt management or finance support
